fun. has achieved yet another milestone with their #1 breakthrough hit, “We Are Young (Feat. Janelle Monáe).” The single has just been confirmed as the top-selling track of 2012 thus far and is nearing 3 million in sales.

“We Are Young” – which can also be found on the band’s smash Fueled By Ramen debut album, Some Nights – continues to own the #1 spot on Billboard’s “Hot 100,” where it remains for the fifth consecutive week. What’s more, the track spent six weeks atop the “Top Digital Songs” chart while also dominating Billboard’s new “Top On-Demand Songs” chart. “We Are Young” is now in its fourth week atop the recently launched chart, which measures on-demand play requests and plays from unlimited listener-controlled radio channels.

As if that weren’t enough, “We Are Young” is the number one song in audience at both Modern Rock radio and Mainstream Top 40 radio. A multi-format radio sensation, the track is currently #2 on the “Top Rock Songs” ranking, as well as #4 on the “Top Pop Songs” chart.

fun. – who recently adorned the cover of Billboard – will celebrate the blockbuster success of “We Are Young” with an eagerly awaited performance on CBS’ Late Show with David Letterman, slated for April 23rd (check local listings). The appearance follows recent visits to TBS’ Conan and VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live.

The NYC-based band is currently in the midst of a major headline tour, with most dates already long sold out. The trek – which includes a sold-out headline date at the famed Barfly in London on May 14th – will culminate with a pair of instant hometown sell-outs at New York City’s Terminal 5 on June 16th and 17th. The first single from SOME NIGHTS, “We Are Young (Feat. Janelle Monáe),” is available now via all digital retailers. The single has already generated quite a buzz, hitting the top 3 on The Hype Machine music blog aggregator in its first week of release, not to mention the top 5 on iTunes’ “Top Alternative Songs” sales ranking. The critically acclaimed indie pop combo will celebrate the track’s release by joining their “We Are Young” collaborator, Janelle Monáe, on Reverb’s upcoming Campus Consciousness Tour. The 15-date college tour will hit campuses in the Midwest and along the East Coast through October (see attached itinerary). The biannual Campus Consciousness Tour (CCT) is both a concert and social consciousness campaign, aimed at offering students a message of environmental sustainability. In addition to supporting Monáe, fun. will take part in the CCT daytime activities by performing a free acoustic set at a central location on each campus the tour visits. As if all that weren’t enough, fun. will herald their new album with a very special sold-out hometown headline show, slated for November 9th at New York’s famed Bowery Ballroom. fun., comprised of Nate Ruess, Jack Antonoff, and Andrew Dost, is working on their Fueled By Ramen debut, produced by Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Alicia Keys) and set for release next year. This fall, fun. will join Janelle Monae on the Campus Consciousness Tour 2011 (dates below).

In anticipation of their Spring tour together, Panic! At The Disco and fun. have collaborated on a new song together.  The track, "C'mon," premiered exclusively on Spin.com today and will be released in iTunes this Tuesday, May 17. The tour kicks off Saturday, May 20 in Philadelphia (full list of tour dates below). 

Spin.com writes, "The duet combines the orchestral drama of Panic! with the pop smarts of fun., as the bands' frontmen Brendon Urie and Nate Ruess, respectively, croon about the redeeming powers of love over piano, strings, and a big rising melody."

In anticipation of their major headline tour that launches September 29, fun. has a special treat for their rabid fans today. The pop/rock trio have re-released their debut album Aim & Ignite with the additions of brand new track "Stitch Me Up," an acoustic version of album track "Take Your Time," two remixes from RAC and two music videos ("All The Pretty Girls" and "Walking The Dog" (above)). Fun. will be joining B.O.B. as support for Paramore's UK tour this fall. Having recently toured with Paramore in the US, fun. will be opening for the band on all their arena dates.  As previously reported, fun. is currently preparing for their US headlining tour.

As previously reported, fun. will kick things off in September with a 31-city headlining tour.  The tour now includes stops in Spokane, San Diego, and Webster Hall in New York City .  As an added bonus for attendees, the band has brought on opening acts that lie very close to their heart. The tour will feature New Jersey-born band, Steel Train – an indie rock group fronted by fun. guitarist, Jack Antonoff. To round out the bill, the band has also invited Jarrod Gorbel, the Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter behind indie act The Honorary Title.

Fresh off sold-out tour dates around the UK release of their critically acclaimed debut album Aim And Ignite, the pop-rock trio known as fun. has announced a fall US headline tour, starting September 29 in South Burlington, VT. The band has been on the road for most of 2010, touring with artists like Jack’s Mannequin, Motion City Soundtrack and most recently Paramore. They also appeared at Bamboozle in May, where RollingStone.com chose them as one of “Five Breakout Bands To Watch” and Spin.com named them one of their “25 Must-Hear Artists At Bamboozle.”
