fun.’s “We Are Young” Featured In The XLVI Chevy Sonic “Stunt Anthem” Super Bowl Ad!

fun.’s current hit "We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monáe)” transforms into an adventure anthem in Chevy’s new Sonic campaign, which kicks off with the broadcast debut of the above spot this Sunday during Super Bowl XLVI.

The commercial features professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek participating in 100% real stunts (skydiving, bungee jumping, kick flipping acts) all to the soundtrack of fun.’s “We Are Young.”  Watch the band's official video for the track HERE

fun. Unveils North American Tour Dates Starting February 29th

fun. has announced details of their upcoming North American tour. The headline trek begins February 29th at South Burlington, Vermont’s Higher Ground and then continues through early May (see itinerary below). Tickets go on sale on December 10th, with a pre-sale beginning today – for complete details, please visit www.ournameisfun.com.

The dates celebrate the upcoming release of the band’s eagerly awaited Fueled By Ramen debut, Some Nights. The album – which includes the breakthrough single, “We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monáe)” – arrives in stores and at all digital retailers on February 21st, 2012. A complete tracklisting for Some Nights has just been announced (see below).

Having earned widespread acclaim with their 2009 debut album, Aim and Ignite, fun. decided to raise the stakes with Some NIghts by teaming with noted producer Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Drake). The band and Bhasker have worked to evolve the idiosyncratic fun. sound by marrying their robust melodies with elements of hip-hop.

“We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monáe),” which is available now via all major digital retailers, has received major airplay from KCRW’s influential Morning Becomes Eclectic, while USA Today applauded the “baroque indie-popsters” for “(making) a counterintuitive play for the big time, slowing down for the massive sing-along chorus.”

fun. Reveal Brand New Video For "Walking The Dog"; More Dates Announced

fun. has just revealed a brand new video for the buoyant track “Walking The Dog” from their critically-acclaimed debut Aim & Ignite. The psychedelically retro video was directed by the collective known as Skinny, who have received critical praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, Time Magazine and Pitchfork for their work with such artists as Ke$ha, Marina & The Diamonds and Devendra Banhart. 

fun. is currently preparing for their major fall headline tour, which kicks off September 29 in South Burlington, VT and includes a special free show in Brooklyn on September 30 at the Bell House. fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff will have double duty on the road as frontman for Steel Train, who will be opening for fun. along with Jarrod Gorbel, the Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter behind indie act The Honorary Title. In mid-November, fun. will join Paramore and B.o.B for a handful of UK dates before heading back to the States for their remaining headline dates, which re-launch with a special show Thanksgiving weekend in New York City at Webster Hall (Nov 27) with Steel Train and The Postelles as support. Fresh off sold-out tour dates around the UK release of their critically acclaimed debut album Aim And Ignite, the pop-rock trio known as fun. has announced a fall US headline tour, starting September 29 in South Burlington, VT. The band has been on the road for most of 2010, touring with artists like Jack’s Mannequin, Motion City Soundtrack and most recently Paramore. They also appeared at Bamboozle in May, where RollingStone.com chose them as one of “Five Breakout Bands To Watch” and Spin.com named them one of their “25 Must-Hear Artists At Bamboozle.”

The trio of Nate Ruess, Andrew Dost, and Jack Antonoff will also make a special appearance in Brooklyn, NY at The Bell House for a FREE show (18+) on September 30th. fun. To Release "Live At Fingerprints" For Record Store Day; Special Album Stream At Think Indie This Week

In celebration of Record Store Day, fun. is putting out a special piece titled fun. Presents Selected Selections From Their First Full-length Album, Heretofore Known as, ‘Aim and Ignite’, Performed Acoustically Live At Fingerprints. It is an acoustic performance recorded at an in-store in the Long Beach, CA record store Fingerprints. The limited edition CD will available in stores on Record Store Day, April 17, and available digitally exclusively at Think Indie starting April 20. In anticipation, Think Indie is streaming the entire release this week HERE. They are also offering a free MP3 of "The Gambler (Live)" for a short time.

fun. To Participate In "Strength Through Unity: A Brooklyn Benefit for Haiti" On Jan 27

 

On Wednesday, January 27, fun. will join Jimmy Fallon, New York State Senator Diane Savino, Ted Leo, The Wrens and more for "Strength Through Unity: A Benefit for the Victims of the Earthquake in Haiti." The fundraiser will take place at the Bell House in Brooklyn beginning at 6:00pm (21+), and all performers will play abbreviated and stripped down sets.  Tickets are $50 and 100% of the proceeds will be split between Save The Children and Partners In Health. Nate, Jack and Andrew of fun., who just wrapped up another successful round of tour dates, launched a brand new website this week at www.ournameisfun.com.
