Hey Ocean! Announces Summer Festival Dates: Premieres Zombie-Ridden Video For "Change"

Vancouver-based band Hey Ocean! will bring their dynamic live show back to the States this summer, including a number of dates on the Vans Warped Tour, as well as an appearance at Summerfest, alongside fellow Nettwerk artists Family of the Year (Label and Artist Management) and fun. (Artist Management); all dates are below. The band’s latest video for album track “Change” is set in an alternative world where zombies and humans attempt to coexist peacefully. Watch it above.

The alt/pop trio, who were nominated for 2013 Juno for “Breakthrough Artist Of The Year,” completed their first major tour of the States, including a stop through Austin for SXSW, earlier this year in support of their latest album IS, which Nettwerk released in late January.  

Fun. Unveils "Some Nights" Video Teaser; Performance At 2012 MTV Movie Awards, Epic Tour Schedule And Upcoming TV Appearances (Jimmy Kimmel Live, Today Show, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon)

fun. has announced details of their very busy summer schedule, including sold out headline shows, high profile TV appearances, and the arrival of a new single/video from their breakthrough album, Some Nights.

The jam-packed itinerary gets underway this weekend when fun. teams with Janelle Monáe for a much-anticipated live performance of their record-breaking #1 hit, “We Are Young (Feat. Janelle Monáe),” at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, slated for Sunday, June 3rd at 9 pm ET/PT (check local listings).

Monday, June 4th will see fun. visiting ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! for an eagerly awaited performance on the show’s famed Outdoor Stage. That same day will also see the band partnering with AOL for a free concert at Los Angeles’ House of Blues Sunset celebrating “Signature Sounds,” an original video series and traveling music program hosted on AOL Music and AOL On. Tickets to the show will be available via an exclusive RSVP page, located at http://music.aol.com/signature-sounds/.

Monday will also see the long-awaited debut of the epic companion video to fun’s new single, “Some Nights.” The clip – directed by Anthony Mandler (Jay-Z, Rihanna, Drake, The Killers) – will have its world premiere exclusively on MTV and on www.mtv.com at 3:55 pm ET. fun.'s "We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monáe) Rockets To The Top Of Billboard's "Hot 100"!

fun. has ascended to the #1 spot on Billboard’s “Hot 100” with their breakthrough hit single, “We Are Young (Feat. Janelle Monáe).” The track is one of the many highlights found on the band’s newly released Fueled By Ramen debut album, Some Nights, which has entered Billboard’s “Top Current Albums” chart at #2 while also making a top 3 entry onto the Billboard 200.

With total downloads now approaching 1.5 million, “We Are Young” is also standing tall in its second consecutive week at #1 on the “Top Digital Songs” chart. The single is further proving a multi-format radio sensation, scoring #2 airplay at Alternative outlets nationwide. What’s more, “We Are Young” has exploded onto the CHR/Top 40 ranking at #24 – the highest ever debut on the chart from a new artist, according to Mediabase.
Additionally, the “We Are Young” companion video is earning extensive play across the MTV network. Recently named as MTV’s “PUSH Artist of the Week,” fun. is currently among the artists nominated for the 2012 mtvU Woodie Awards’ “Breaking Woodie,” which honors today’s favorite emerging artists. fun.’s current hit "We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monáe)” transforms into an adventure anthem in Chevy’s new Sonic campaign, which kicks off with the broadcast debut of the above spot this Sunday during Super Bowl XLVI.

The commercial features professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek participating in 100% real stunts (skydiving, bungee jumping, kick flipping acts) all to the soundtrack of fun.’s “We Are Young.”  Watch the band's official video for the track HERE

fun. Unveils North American Tour Dates Starting February 29th

fun. has announced details of their upcoming North American tour. The headline trek begins February 29th at South Burlington, Vermont’s Higher Ground and then continues through early May (see itinerary below). The dates celebrate the upcoming release of the band’s eagerly awaited Fueled By Ramen debut, Some Nights. The album – which includes the breakthrough single, “We Are Young (feat. fun. Reveal Brand New Video For "Walking The Dog"; More Dates Announced

fun. has just revealed a brand new video for the buoyant track “Walking The Dog” from their critically-acclaimed debut Aim & Ignite. The psychedelically retro video was directed by the collective known as Skinny, who have received critical praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, Time Magazine and Pitchfork for their work with such artists as Ke$ha, Marina & The Diamonds and Devendra Banhart. 

fun. is currently preparing for their major fall headline tour, which kicks off September 29 in South Burlington, VT and includes a special free show in Brooklyn on September 30 at the Bell House. fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff will have double duty on the road as frontman for Steel Train, who will be opening for fun. along with Jarrod Gorbel, the Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter behind indie act The Honorary Title. In mid-November, fun. will join Paramore and B.o.B for a handful of UK dates before heading back to the States for their remaining headline dates, which re-launch with a special show Thanksgiving weekend in New York City at Webster Hall (Nov 27) with Steel Train and The Postelles as support. Fresh off sold-out tour dates around the UK release of their critically acclaimed debut album Aim And Ignite, the pop-rock trio known as fun. has announced a fall US headline tour, starting September 29 in South Burlington, VT. The band has been on the road for most of 2010, touring with artists like Jack’s Mannequin, Motion City Soundtrack and most recently Paramore. They also appeared at Bamboozle in May, where RollingStone.com chose them as one of “Five Breakout Bands To Watch” and Spin.com named them one of their “25 Must-Hear Artists At Bamboozle.”

The trio of Nate Ruess, Andrew Dost, and Jack Antonoff will also make a special appearance in Brooklyn, NY at The Bell House for a FREE show (18+) on September 30th. fun. To Release "Live At Fingerprints" For Record Store Day; Special Album Stream At Think Indie This Week

In celebration of Record Store Day, fun. is putting out a special piece titled fun. Presents Selected Selections From Their First Full-length Album, Heretofore Known as, ‘Aim and Ignite’, Performed Acoustically Live At Fingerprints. It is an acoustic performance recorded at an in-store in the Long Beach, CA record store Fingerprints. The limited edition CD will available in stores on Record Store Day, April 17, and available digitally exclusively at Think Indie starting April 20. In anticipation, Think Indie is streaming the entire release this week HERE. They are also offering a free MP3 of "The Gambler (Live)" for a short time.

fun. To Participate In "Strength Through Unity: A Brooklyn Benefit for Haiti" On Jan 27

 

On Wednesday, January 27, fun. will join Jimmy Fallon, New York State Senator Diane Savino, Ted Leo, The Wrens and more for "Strength Through Unity: A Benefit for the Victims of the Earthquake in Haiti." The fundraiser will take place at the Bell House in Brooklyn beginning at 6:00pm (21+), and all performers will play abbreviated and stripped down sets.  Tickets are $50 and 100% of the proceeds will be split between Save The Children and Partners In Health.
