Nettwerk One Publishingartist Michael Hadres, akaPerfume Genius, will release his new album Put Your Back N 2 It on February 20, 2012 UK label Organs (Turnstile). His debut LP Learning, released in 2010, firmly established Seattle native Hadreas as one of the most singular new voices in music, winning plaudits across the pond, including Guardian, Dazed and Confused and Mojo in the UK, and Pitchfork, Spin Magazine, Interview and more in the US.
Where Learning was stark and confessional however, Put Your Back N 2 It is lush and universal. It sees an expansion of both his thematic and sonic palette, playing as a broad meditation on intimacy, power, family, secrecy and hope, not just through his impressionistic lyrics, but also through the music itself. Check out the taster track “All Waters” here. Perfume Genius will also be heading over to the UK for a clutch of highly anticipated live dates in the spring.

"Absolutely beautiful - a great new talent" - BBC Radio 1
“Top 10 At SXSW 2011” – Paste Magazine
“****” – MOJO
Released yesterday, Boots Met My Face by Nettwerk One’s Scottish quintet Admiral Fallow, is a joyous, heart-filled, orchestral-tinged and beautifully well-crafted album. Released earlier this year in the UK, the band received tremendous praises, including BBC, NPR, MOJO and Paste Magazine.
Comprised of lead singer and main writer Louis Abbott, Sarah Hayes, Joe Rattray, Kevin Brolly and Philip Hague, their sets go from simple voice and guitar compositions ("Four Bulbs"), through stomping Wilco-esque tunes to riotous cacophonies of white noise (see "Squealing Pigs" above); their songs about alienation within relationships and experiences of “youth” itself are sung and screamed with utter abandon while the band works themselves into a furious frenzy.

Check out this old footage of Skylark performing
"Wildflower" on Midnight Special in 1973!
Nettwerk One is happy to congratulate writers Dave Richardson and Doug Edwards on the induction of their song “Wildflower” into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
“Wildflower” has a rich and profound history, with the lyric ““Let her cry for she’s a lady” still standing as an anthem for women around the world. The lyric was written in 1970 by Dave Richardson—then a young policeman in Saanich, BC—as a poem about his girlfriend. Skylark guitarist Doug Edwards composed the music, and “Wildflower” was released in 1973 as the third single from Skylark’s first album for Capitol Records.
Championed by the queen of radio programming, Windsor, Ontario’s Rosalie Tremblay, “Wildflower” spread across the US and Canada and became a huge soul hit before crossing over to the pop charts. It reached #8 on the Billboard Top 200 and went on to sell well over a million copies.
In 1973, “Wildflower” was released as an instrumental by Ray Charles’ former music director, saxophonist Hank Crawford. It was then released in 1974 by both The New Birth and the O’Jays, and has since been covered an astonishing 70 times by artists including Johnny Mathis, the Neville Brothers, Gary Morris, Colour Me Badd, Blake Shelton and Hong Kong superstar Sandy Lam.
