Nettwerk One Publishing congratulates The Cadillac Three on their signing to Big Machine Label Group. Neil Mason of The Cadillac Three (formerly The Cadillac Black) is signed to an exclusive publishing agreement with Nettwerk One and Revelry Music Group.

Big Machine Label Group has signed The Cadillac Three to its Big Machine Records imprint. The Cadillac Three will join fellow artists Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw and others as part of the Big Machine Records label.

The Cadillac Three includes a trio of Nashville natives–Jaren Johnston (guitar & lead vocals), Kelby Ray (bass steel guitar, dobro, acoustic and vocals) and Neil Mason (drums, percussion and vocals).

Johnston is known for penning Keith Urban’s No. 1 smash “You Gonna Fly,” two new cuts on McGraw’s latest record Two Lanes of Freedom and several other tunes for acts like Kenny Chesney, Sara Evans and Dierks Bentley.

Neon Neon (Gruff Rhys and Boom Bip) will release new album Praxis Makes Perfect in the UK on April 29th via Lex Records.

Praxis Makes Perfect is inspired by the life and times of Giangiacomo Feltrinelli. Born in to one of Italy’s wealthiest families, Feltrinelli was a left-wing political activist and published some of the greatest literary works of the 20th century, including The Leopard and Doctor Zhivago. He died in highly suspicious circumstances in 1972.

Praxis Makes Perfect features Sabrina Salerno, Asia Argento, Cate Le Bon, Josh Klinghoffer and follows Neon Neon’s 2008, Mercury-shortlisted debut Stainless Style, a concept album based on the life of colourful motoring mogul John DeLorean.

Gruff Rhys and Boom Bip have also teamed up with playwright Tim Price, director Wils Wilson and National Theatre Wales to create unique Neon Neon live performances. An initial run of shows will take place at an undisclosed Cardiff location from 2nd to 5th May. Tickets are priced £15 and on sale here.

2012 was hardly the end of the world for Nettwerk's Film & TV Department, who successfully licensed songs to various TV shows, advertisements and films from artists across Nettwerk Music Group's Label, Management and Publishing rosters. Nettwerk One Publishing client Aaron Espe has much to celebrate this holiday season. His song "Through Frozen Forests" is currently the soundtrack to a series of 14 Sainsbury 2012 Christmas Day TV ads in the UK (watch the ads HERE).  "Through Frozen Forests" and four other tracks have been released as a digital EP in the UK (here). 2012 has seen Perfume Genius, aka Seattle native Mike Hadreas, go steadily from strength to strength. His sophomore album, the gorgeous Put Your Back N2 It, saw him earn his biggest raves to date on both sides of the pond (everyone from Pitchfork and Spin to NME and The Guardian), with resulting tours across the UK and Europe selling out and effortlessly capturing audience’s hearts. Add in supporters like Michael Stipe and Courtney Love, and his singularly beautiful videos for previous singles “Dark Parts” and “Hood” gaining over half a million views, and you have a musician who has undoubtedly consolidated his arrival as one of the most potent and unexpected new talents around.

Now Perfume Genius is releasing his third single “Take Me Home” – a jewel of a song whose upbeat, majestic pop sheen masks an unnerving undertow of emotional oblivion and desperation, as he says he will be “like a shadow of a shadow of a shadow...for you”, like a man so eager to be loved that he will even annihilate his sense of self in the process.  Stream "Take Me Home" below.

NW1 client Gruff Rhys has announced his second investigative concert tour of the Americas. The first, which saw Gruff winding his way around South America in a search for his long lost, guitar-playing, poncho-wearing uncle, Rene Griffiths, was documented by Dylan Goch in their 2010 feature film Separado! In August 2012, Gruff - known around the world for his work with Super Furry Animals and Neon Neon, as well as his collaborations with Gorillaz, Danger Mouse, Sparklehorse and Simian Mobile Disco - will be seeking out the final resting place of his relative John Evans, who left Wales in 1792 on a quest to find a mythical tribe of Welsh speaking Native Americans. Gruff will follow the path of John Evans using film, the written word, photo-story, social media and song to create an investigative road movie and album.

John Evans - a 22-year old farmhand from the mountains of Snowdonia, Wales - responded to a plea for a brave soul to ascertain if there was indeed a tribe of Welsh-speaking Native Americans still walking the Great Plains, descendants of Prince Madog (widely believed to have discovered America in 1170). During the course of an extraordinary adventure, Evans wrestled the largest river reptiles ever seen in the Mississippi, hunted Bison with the Omaha tribe, defected to the Spanish in St Louis, discovered imaginary volcanoes in Missouri, annexed North Dakota from the British, and created the map that guided Lewis and Clarke on their legendary expedition. His adventure was cut short when he died broke and out of his mind at 29 in New Orleans.

NW 1/Revelry client and Nashville-based trio The Cadillac Black will release their self-titled debut album on Tuesday, April 17th via all major digital retailers; there will be a small run of physical album and vinyl available through he band’s website: www.thecadillacblack.com.

The band, who recently brought their infectious live show to SXSW in Austin for the ASCAP showcase, will celebrate the release of the album with a Nashville show on Friday, April 20th at The Basement. They’ll be hitting in the road in May as support for Lynyrd Skynyrd on select dates before spending the rest of the month out with Dierks Bentley & The Eli Young Band.

The Cadillac Black—Jaren Johnston (Lead Vocals & Guitars), Neil Mason (Drums, Percussion & Backgrounds) and Kelby Ray (Guitars, Lap Steel & Backgrounds)—describe their sounds as “a little bit country, a little bit rock & roll and a whole lot of whiskey soaked fun.” They’ve already had songs from the debut album featured in a number of television shows including three songs in both Vampire Diaries and Hart Of Dixie, as well as tracks in CSI Miami, Baseball Wives and House.

In case you missed it, Nettwerk One publishing client and acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter Sinead O’Connor released a brand new video for “The Wolf Is Getting Married,” off her new album How About I Be Me (And You Be You)? .  Watch it above.

Glasgow's Admiral Fallow (an NPR "Band to Watch" at SXSW 2011 and Paste Magazine's #3 Top International tip in the USA for 2012) have had an exciting couple of weeks. “Squealing Pigs,” their foot-stomping, clarinet-driven, sing-along single from their critically acclaimed debut album Boots Met My Face, was the soundtrack to a GE commercial that made its network television premiere during Super Bowl XLVI to an estimated audience of over 111 million. The track was also used in an episode of NBC’s Chuck. The track, already a favorite in the UK, was released in North America on February 5, 2012 as a digital single on Lo-Five Records via INgrooves and features newly designed artwork. Get it here.

The band has just completed their sophomore album, which will be released via their new label home, Nettwerk, in May. The upcoming release was mixed by Paul Savage at Glasgow’s Chem 19 (Mogwai, King Creosote) and mastered by Greg Calbi (Bon Iver, The National, Battles) at Sterling Sound NYC. More album details will follow, but in the meantime,  Admiral Fallow has just announced an extensive UK tour starting April 22, 2012.

"Beetle in The Box," the first single to be taken from the new album, received its debut spin on Huw Stephens BBC Radio 1 show on January 25 and has had subsequent plays on Radio 2 and BBC 6Music, XFM etc. The band is offering fans the chance to download the single for free from their site www.admiralfallow.com, for a limited time.
