Nettwerk To Release The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack To Still Alice, Starring 2015 Golden Globe-Nominee Julianne Moore

“[The] score from British composer Ilan Eshkeri doesn’t tell you how to feel, but rather how [Alice] feels: lost, emotional and anxious most of the time.” – Peter Debruge, Variety

“The score, by Ilan Eshkeri, is also a standout, covering everything from beautiful notes in near-silence to sequences that are meant to — and do — evoke Alice's confusion and loss.” – James Rocchi, The Wrap

“Still Alice has an exceptionally lovely, yearning score by Ilan Eshkeri for violin, viola, cello, and piano.” – David Edelstein, New York Magazine's Vulture

Nettwerk is proud to release the Still Alice: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack on January 13, just a few days before the wide opening of the film on January 16. Composed by acclaimed British composer Ilan Eshkeri (The Young Victoria, Stardust), the score has already received critical praise for its beautiful accentuation of the film’s highly emotional journey, which follows Alice Howland (portrayed by 2015 Golden Globe-nominee Julianne Moore) as she struggles with Early-Onset Alzheimer’s Disease. The album will also feature a cover of Lyle Lovett’s “If I Had A Boat” by British musician Karen Elson, which plays during the credits at the end of the film.

Nettwerk Music Group’s publishing division, Nettwerk One Music (NW1) announces this morning a 50% acquisition and a go-forward publishing joint venture with Nashville-based independent publishing company Ten Ten Music Group.

Under the acquisition agreement, NW1 now retains publishing interest in a number of significant hit songs, including, Miranda Lambert’s “Fastest Girl In Town,” Reba McEntire’s “Turn On The Radio,” Papa Roach’s “Kick In The Teeth,” Tracy Byrd’s “Watermelon Crawl,” Blake Shelton’s “The Baby,” Alan Jackson’s “Here In The Real World” and “Between The Devil And Me,” and many others. Furthermore, NW1 will take over worldwide copyright and administration duties for the existing catalogue and will provide Film, TV and Advertising sync services through its existing team based in Los Angeles, New York and London.

Through the joint venture, NW1 and Ten Ten will combine creative resources to work already signed writers David Lee, Porcelain Black, Scott Stepakoff and Femke Weidema, and will look to build on that roster together with Nettwerk Nashville Head, AJ Burton, and the Ten Ten team.

NW1’s Blair McDonald says, “We are thrilled to be in business with Barry Coburn and his team at Ten Ten. This opportunity immediately felt like a great fit for everyone involved. Barry has proven over the years that he has a great understanding of songs, songwriters and the world of music publishing. During his career, he has also been enormously successful as an artist manager, concert promoter, live agent and record company executive. That broad experience makes him a great partner for Nettwerk. This catalogue is a very significant addition to Nettwerk’s growing publishing business, but just as importantly, we look forward to building on the roster and creating one of the most vibrant, international and forward thinking independent publishing houses in Nashville.”

Ten Ten President Barry Coburn adds, "I am so glad to be launching a new beginning for Ten Ten Music Group with Nettwerk One Music. We discovered that we formed our independent companies, one in Vancouver, the other in Nashville, within a few days of one another 30 years ago in September. The spirit of entrepreneurship and the pursuit of great music was a major factor in us coming together in this new venture. Nettwerk has developed so many great artists and writers, as has Ten Ten, and we look forward to building a great strong presence as publishing partners.”

NW1/Revelry, Combustion, Sea Gayle and Complete Control Management Pair EDM Artists With Nashville Writers At 2-Day Camp

Nettwerk One Music/Revelry Music, Combustion Music, Sea Gayle Music and Complete Control Management recently came together to host a 2-day writing camp combining Nashville writers with two EDM artists: Tritonal and Brass Knuckles. Writing sessions took place from 10am – 7pm at Blackbird Studios and Combustion Music offices, with performing rights organizations ASCAP and BMI providing daily lunch.

Participating writers included: NW1/Revelry clients Neil Mason, Mike Fiorentino and Tammi Kidd Hutton, Combustion client Luke Foley, and Sea Gayle clients Bryan Simpson and Ingrid Andress.

Nettwerk’s AJ Burton says, “The idea of organizing an outside- the-box writing camp in Nashville intrigued me and my colleague Melissa Emert-Hutner, and after discussing the idea with our friends at Combustion, Sea Gayle and Complete Control Management, we decided to give it a shot. Combining forces between two thriving genres and pushing the limits and EDM artists’ ability to feature various artists on their records, it just made sense to us.”

Complete Control Management's head of A&R Joseph Pepin says, "I've toyed around with the idea of sending dance acts from Complete Control's roster to Nashville for a while now. When I began discussing the idea with my friends over at Nettwerk, Combustion and Sea Gayle, I found that they shared an equal amount of excitement for the idea, so we moved forward with it. I've always had the utmost respect for the songwriting that takes place in Nashville and the ability that the writers in this city have to tell a story in a unique way. I think it is safe to say that we are all really happy with the results of the camp, and we hope to have more outside the box collaborations of this type in the near future.”

Nicholas Krgovich (No Kids; P:ano) To Release Solo Debut 'On Sunset' October 7

“...melancholy yet propulsive soft rock that sounds like the midpoint between Dave Longstreth and Donald Fagen. You’d do well to listen to it.” — Stereogum

"It’s a polished, ambitious effort that puts melody and layered arrangements (created with composer Stefan Udell) at the forefront…” — Tiny Mix Tapes

Music savant (and NW1 client) Nicholas Krgovich, mostly known for his work with No Kids, Gigi and P:ano, will self-release his debut solo album On Sunset on October 7, 2014.

Having lived in Los Angeles for the past four years, On Sunset stands as a rich, widescreen tribute to a lost Los Angeles. Produced and mixed by John Collins (Destroyer, New Pornographers) and recorded by Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Cave Singers), the album is a sweeping Technicolor extravaganza. In the tradition of experimental music masquerading as pop (Avalon, Cupid & Psyche '85, Steve McQueen), On Sunset is a lonely, glamorous, late-night answer to a city's seductive and endless sprawl.

Nettwerk One Publishing Artist Perfume Genius To Release New Album 'Too Bright' On September 22

Listen to “Queen” now: http://po.st/PGQYT

Over the course of two astonishing albums, Nettwerk One publishing artist Perfume Genius, aka Seattle native Mike Hadreas, cemented his place as a singer-songwriter of rare frankness, creating songs that, while achingly emotional, offered empathy and hope, rather than any judgment or hand-wringing. Sparse, gorgeous and with Hadreas’ quavering vocals often only accompanied by piano, they were uncommonly beautiful tales of a life lived on the dark side – scarred, brutal-ised, yet ultimately, slowly but surely reclaimed.

Too Bright, however, is something else altogether. Less self-conscious, and less concerned with storytelling and easily-digested melodies, it is a brave, bold, unpredictably quix-otic exploration of what Hadreas calls “an underlying rage that has slowly been growing since ten and has just begun to bubble up”. Recorded with Adrian Utley of Portishead and featuring John Parish on several tracks, it is a stunning about-face which brings to mind audacious career-shift albums like Kate Bush’s The Dreaming or Scott Walker’s Tilt, records which walk the tightrope between pure songwriting and overt experimentation.
