The 2012 Polaris Long List was announced today in Vancouver, and Nettwerk recording artist Great Lake Swimmers and their new album New Wild Everywhere are one of 40 artists/releases nominated for the presigious annual award.
The Polaris Music Prize, which is now in its 7th year, honors the best in Canadian music from the past year. A $30,000 award will be presented to what the jury of voters deem to be the best Canadian album released between June 2011 and May 2012. The list will be narrowed down to a short list of ten on July 17th at the Drake Hotel in Toronto.

Predicted by Shazam to one of the Top 10 Songs of the Summer, "Let Her Go" has sold more than 1.5 Million digital copies worldwide, and the accompanying video boasts more than 47 Million YouTube views. The UK troubadour returns to North America for his largest headline tour to date, starting July 10 in Vancouver.
