The Rifles Shares Music Video For “Sweetest Thing”

Partnering with Lacoste, UK–based The Rifles, premiere the official music video for “Sweetest Thing.” Directed by Ferry Gouw (Major Lazer, Roxy Music, Simian Mobile Disco, Bloc Party), the video is a collage of handpicked video and photo images mixed in with band footage.

Featuring Paul Weller on guitars, the anthemic “Sweetest Thing” is from the band’s third full-length album, Freedom Run (out now). Recorded at Paul Weller’s Black Barn studio and produced by the legendary Chris Potter (The Clash, The Rolling Stones, The Verve), Freedom Run is shaping up to be their most accomplished album to date, developing the band’s sound into something fresh and energized, while maintaining all the hallmarks of a classic. UK Rock Band The Rifles Return With New Album 'Freedom Run' On September 20

Listen To “Tangled Up In Love” Here

Brit-rock band The Rifles return to release their third studio album Freedom Run on September 20, 2011, with lead single “Tangled Up In Love” out August 16, 2011. The track is a dangerously infectious melody, topped with a luscious string riff and the familiar Rifles’ crunching guitars.

Freedom Run further enhances the reputation of one of the most exciting, enduring and diverse London bands of the last ten years. Recorded at Paul Weller’s studio, Black Barn, and produced by the legendary Chris Potter (who has guided such luminaries as The Clash, The Stones and The Verve), the album has a fresh, revitalized sound, loaded with inspirational tracks that range from light and fun pop symphonies to the raucous soul-inflected heartfelt pop-rock that has dominated The Rifles’ back catalogue and given them a fan-base that continues to sell-out venues across Europe.

The Rifles To Release 'Great Escape' Sept 15; Tour Dates Announced

“Full of pulsating basslines and yell-aloud-with-your-mates-choruses, it’s an infectious, energetic slab of good old-fashioned rock ‘n’ roll.” Maxim (UK)

It's now round two for The Rifles, and with some enormo-anthems, Great Escape is a soaring indie mission statement…an exhilarating sound of a band raising their game for a shot at the big time. With Jan 'Stan' Kybert (Weller, Oasis, Bjork) on production duties, singer Joel Stoker, guitarist Luke Crowther, bassist Rob Pyne, and drummer Grant Marsh have been guided to a place of musical maturity.
