Singer/songwriter Matt Wertz offers the perfect holiday soundtrack for tree-trimming, treat-baking and gift-wrapping with Snow Globe, his first Christmas album, available on Handwritten/Essential Records October 25.

Blending Wertz’s signature acoustic style with strings and horns while adding a little holiday flare, Snow Globe features timeless Christmas classics including, “Walking In A Winter Wonderland,” “White Christmas,” “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and “O Holy Night” made angelic by the lilting voices of The Nashville Children’s Choir. The 12-track album, produced by Ben Shive, features guest vocals by Amy Grant, Brandon Heath and Dave Barnes.

“There is a reverence to making Christmas music,” says Wertz. “Instead of making the song serve me, I tried to serve the song. I wanted to make a Christmas record my grandkids would listen to someday.”

Nashville-based singer/songwriter Matt Wertz has much to celebrate today. His fourth full-length album, Weights & Wings, has debuted on the Billboard Top 200 at #56 with 8,000 albums sold, nearly doubling the sales on his last full-length release Under Summer Sun (2008) and giving Matt the highest sales week and chart debut of his career. Weights & Wings also lands on the Overall Digital Albums Chart at #8 and achieves more than 10,000 in individual track sales. Wertz brings his live show to his loyal fans with a 27-city US tour that kicks off this Friday, March 25 in New York City at the Gramercy Theatre and wraps in his home city of Nashville on Saturday, May 7 at Exit In.

As part of the day’s celebration, Wertz has just premiered his brand new video for stand-out track “Feels So Right,” which yesterday was included in the USA Today “Playlist.” Critic Brian Mansfield wrote, “Sure, it’s a love song, but the title could easily refer to the undeniably perfect combination of jangle and slide guitar.” The video was directed by Josh Franer and costars Tucker Perry as the leading lady, also known as Miss Tennessee 2010. January 18, 2011 (New York, NY) – Nashville-based singer/songwriter Matt Wertz will release his fourth full-length album, Weights & Wings, via Nettwerk Records on March 15, 2011. The album was recorded in Nashville and produced by Jason Lehning (Guster, Alison Krauss, Mat Kearney). Each of the album’s 11 tracks are tied to relationships and the personal journey the reflective songwriter has been on since the release of his last full-length album, 2008’s Under Summer Sun.

In the three years since the release of Under Summer Sun, Matt has balanced a relentless touring schedule (including sold-out headline gigs as well as support slots with the likes of Ben Folds, Five For Fighting, Jamie Cullum, Gavin DeGraw and One Republic) with the trials and tribulations of life (including a breakup with his major label). But the charming Missouri-native used these experiences to shape Weights & Wings, with his heart on his sleeve more than ever.

The first single from Weights & Wings, “Feels So Right,” is out now. The up-tempo love song showcases Matt’s ability to combine soulful rock with carefree pop. Matt will hit the road this spring in support of the release of Weights & Wings; dates will be announced shortly.

Wertz released his last full-length album, Under Summer Sun, in 2008 on Universal Republic. Stand out track "Everything's Right," which exemplified his penchant for combining soulful rock with carefree pop, debuted at #40 on the Hot AC Chart and was featured in TV shows like Brothers And Sisters and Wildfire, and the major motion picture My Super Ex-Girlfriend. He has toured with the likes of Ben Folds, Jamie Cullum, Gavin DeGraw and One Republic, as well as headlined sold-out clubs across the country.

Earlier this year, Wertz self-relased a new EP called While We're Becoming, which debuted at #9 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. He joined Five For Fighting on the road for six weeks before turning his focus to his new full-length album.

Nashville-based singer/songwriter Matt Wertz has revealed a gorgeous new video for the the track "I Just Realized" off his latest EP, While We're Becoming, which was self-released earlier this year and debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. The video was shot just outside Nashville, directed by John Moessner and co-stars the lovely Jana Kramer ('One Tree Hill,' 'Entourage,' 'Friday Night Lights'). While We're Becoming is the follow up to Wertz's 2008 full-length Under Summer Sun, which featured stand-out track "Everything Is Right" and led to features on Yahoo! Music's "Who's Next," AOL Breakers and MySpace. He has also created an avid live following from touring with the likes of Gavin DeGraw, John McLaughlin and Jamie Cullum.

Matt will also release an original holiday track titled "Christmas Just Does This To Me" on November 30th. He is currently hard at work on his new studio album, out in 2011 and will be announcing tour dates soon. Stay tuned for more details.
