July 24, 2012 (Vancouver, BC) – Vancouver-based Joshua Hyslop shares the video for latest single, “What Have I Done?” featuring newcomer, Anna Scouten on vocals.

Directed by Michael Rodriguez, the video shows the corrosion of a crumbling romance, set inside a deteriorated home.

“What Have I Done?” is the latest single from Hyslop’s debut album, Where The Mountain Meets The Valley. Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Joshua Hyslop will debut his first full-length, Where The Mountain Meets The Valley on Nettwerk Records (May 15 digital, on shelves July 3).

In his early 20s, Hyslop composes beautiful melodies; showcasing his unforgettable vocal harmonies. Inspired by an array of artists - Damien Rice, Ryan Adams, Iron & Wine – Hyslop has developed his own kind of artfully-rendered Americana.

In anticipation of the album’s release, Hyslop partnered with Exclaim! to share “Do Not Let Me Go,” a song written in a quasi-conscious state – the words that surface when you think they are your last. After enduring two near-death experiences, the lyrics are wrenching, intimate and redemptive.  To listen to a 1-minute telling by Hyslop, followed by an acoustic performance, watch the video clip above.

In anticipation of his first full-length album, Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Joshua Hyslop released “What Have I Done?” (feat. Anna Scouten) via Nettwerk Records.

“What Have I Done?” features the vocal and musical talents of a young man with a mature and measured voice. Despite his youth, Hyslop’s music deftly explores the complicated conversation between the battle and brilliance of life.

“What Have I Done?” is the first new song since last year’s six-song EP, titled Cold Wind.  EP received early support from CBC, Earshot Magazine, Penguin Eggs, Exclaim! and others.

Nettwerk recording artist Joshua Hyslop premiered a new video for his track "Nowhere Left To Go" yesterday on Exclaim! (here).  The video was directed by Michael Rodriguez and shot at Cypress Falls in Vancouver. "Nowhere To Go" is from the Vancouver-based singer/songwriter's latest release, the Cold Wind EP.  Stay tuned for news on Joshua's full-length Nettwerk debut, coming soon. 

Nettwerk Records Canadian End Of Year Recap

As 2011 comes to a close, Nettwerk Music Group is excited to share a year-end recap of some significant milestones the label has achieved in Canada.

Toronto’s revered indie-folk/rock band Great Lake Swimmers saw their Juno-nominated album Lost Channels exceed 16,000 copies sold, bringing their career sales to nearly 30,000 albums in their home country. Meanwhile, Australian sibling duo Angus & Julia Stone, whose sophomore album Down The Way debuted at #118 on the Canadian Soundscan Album Chart, saw their album surpass 10,000 copies sold in Canada, with break-out single “Big Jet Plane” exceeding 11,000 in track sales.

Nettwerk has also been focused on expanding its label roster over the past 12 months with the addition of various up-and-coming Canadian talents, including Vancouver-based folk singer/songwriter Joshua Hyslop, Waterloo sibling trio Kidstreet, Toronto-born folk/rock artist Liam Titcomb and Vancouver-based electro synth-pop fivesome Young Liars.  More information on each artist is below.

Vancouver singer-songwriter Joshua Hyslop will release his debut EP "Cold Wind" across Canadian retail stores on July 19, 2011. The EP features tracks such as the melodic "Nowhere Left To Go", CBC Radio 2 favourite "If I Was A Better Man" and the title track single "Cold Wind", where Joshua reflects on his perseverance in the face of adversity. As a special exclusive, iTunes makes the “Cold Wind” EP available beginning June 21, four weeks before the physical release date.
