As always, fun. pays tribute to their fans and supporters; today, the band streams the ENTIRE ALBUM on their website a week prior to street date. At 4:30am this morning, frontman Nate Ruess writes a thank you note, “we’ve been freaking out about this [album] for almost a year. But this album isn't for us anymore. It finally gets to live within the ears of whom it was intended for... it's for you.” Nate continues, “When I think thematically of what this album is about, I think about how many of the songs are about trying to figure out just who you are, and the optimism and perseverance that results in doing so. Fortunately, that's how I feel when I'm at a fun. show. You're allowed to be anyone as long as you know the words. For almost 10 years you guys have given me something to belong to and I sincerely hope that this album belongs to you. It's ended up being our way of saying ‘thank you’ for being who you are. And please keep being that person.”
fun.’s current hit "We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monáe)” transforms into an adventure anthem in Chevy’s new Sonic campaign, which kicks off with the broadcast debut of the above spot this Sunday during Super Bowl XLVI.
The commercial features professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek participating in 100% real stunts (skydiving, bungee jumping, kick flipping acts) all to the soundtrack of fun.’s “We Are Young.” Watch the band's official video for the track HERE.
