“In The Air,” a collaboration between Grammy-nominated Morgan Page, Sultan + Ned Shepard and BT and featuring Angela McCluskey on vocals, reaches the #1 spot this week on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay Chart, jumping ahead of David Guetta & Usher’s hot new single, “Without You.” “In The Air,” is also hitting high notes at FMQB Dance Airplay (#2 for last 6 weeks), FMQB Internet Airplay (#1 for last 4 weeks) and Billboard Club Play (#6).
“In The Air” is Page’s first #1 hit, despite a long history of Top 10 successes. Believe--Page’s 2010 follow up to Elevate, which featured break-out single "Longest Road" and fellow chart topper "Call My Name"-- continues to be a fixture on the iTunes Dance Albums chart with two former Billboard Hot Dance Airplay hits: “Fight For You” and “Strange Condition.”
On October 11th, Page released In The Air, a six song EP of the lead single from his forthcoming 2012 studio album. In The Air includes several versions of the title track, in addition to remixes by Hardwell and Hard Rock Sofa.
Last week at Avalon Hollywood, Page performed “In The Air” and previewed other tracks from his upcoming album on the newly announced In The Air tour. Running through January 2012, the show delivered an enhanced experience for fans with computer-generated visuals, synchronized custom lights and additional interactive surprises. The sold-out party took over Hollywood with an array of special guests - Tegan & Sara, Angela McCluskey, Sultan + Ned Shepard, Andy Caldwell, Jonathan Mendlesohn and guest DJ Blake Lewis (American Idol). On October 15th at Avalon Hollywood, the golden child of the EDM scene, Grammy-nominated Morgan Page was joined on stage by a flood of special guests - Tegan & Sara, Sultan + Ned Shepard, Andy Caldwell, Jonathan Mendelsohn and Angela McCluskey - with American Idol's Blake Lewis starting things up with a DJ set. Like his contemporaries (Deadmaus, Girl Talk), Page put steroids into his live production to marry the audio and visual experience for his fans. As part of the set up, Veokami, a video technology company, teamed up with Page to build a crowd-sourced, interactive “recording” of the performance so that fans around the world can share the experience from start to end and from multiple camera angles. Fans were asked to bring their video cameras and record the night, and Veokami will stitch the footage together to create and share a single live piece. Directed by Justin Coloma, the video for “Operator” debuts at USAToday.com. The video is both a retro and modern concept, similar to DJ Dan's debut album namesake, Future Retro (Nettwerk Records). With a plethora of new ways to communicate, the video pays homage to the grandaddy of all mediums - the telephone. The video features Blake Lewis inside an ultra-modern phonebooth lined with neon lights and an LCD screen and DJ Dan managing a 40s-inspired switchboard, filtering the track.
A stalwart of the West Coast House sound, DJ Dan is a remixer extraordinaire (Lady Gaga, P. Diddy, Black Eyed Peas), continually imparting his influential voice of authenticity, knowledge, and pure love for all things music. Blake’s incomparable energy, combined with DJ Dan’s trademark production, make for a fun and sexy reworking of the 1985 hit originally recorded by Midnight Star.
BT has revealed a new video for the track "Suddenly" from his Grammy®-nominated album These Hopeful Machines. The video was directed by Bobby Montero and features American Idol alumni Blake Lewis on drums. It also acts as the lead-in for an unprecidented video contest that will be launching shortly. More details to follow, but for now check out the new video above!
Retro-kitsch has never been more in fashion thanks to DJ Dan’s latest delve in to the future. Enlisting the help of Überzone, DJ Dan Presents: Future Retro, Evolution 3 (out today, April 6)throws back to the days when electro wizardry was born and a music revolution was well under way. As a microcosm of things to come, the third in the single series of Future Retro adopts the familiar form of one track representing days gone by and another glancing at the future, much like his debut full-length album Future Retro will do when it drops this later this summer.
Originally a number one hit on the Billboard R&Bchart in 1985, Midnight Star’s funk-fuelled electro smash "Operator" had a big influence on Dan in his early years, prompting the honouree retrospective reworking. The usual suspects get dusted off from the vaults for a long overdue workout; sniffs of the TR-808 drum machine ooze from the roots of the track with the vocoded sounds of Blake Lewis gliding throughout. In typical 80s fashion, synths rule over the rhythms in an extravagant exhibition of electro-funk’d up pop with remixes courtesy of Miles Dyson, Nom De Strip and Bird Peterson.
On the B-side, "Chop Shop" showcases everything futuristic about Dan’s visions for music but interestingly wafts influences from the past, making it a truly visionary piece.
USAToday.com premiered the new single from DJ Dan& Überzone called "Operator," which features vocals by former American Idol contestant and USA Today Idol Chatter guest blogger Blake Lewis. Check out the video by clicking above or HERE.

"Easy Come Easy Go" is the first single from New Wild Everywhere and easily the most upbeat and up-tempo track to ever come from Toronto indie folk/rock darlings Great Lake Swimmers. Out April 3, New Wild Everywhere is the follow up to 2009's critically acclaimed, Juno and Polaris-prize nominated album Lost Channels. Their fifth album in just under a decade, this new collection of 12 tracks reveals a depth and maturity previously only hinted at by lead singer and songwriter Tony Dekker.
