Nettwerk Records releases Broken Brights, the exceptional solo effort from Angus Stone, perhaps better known as half of the acclaimed sibling duo, Angus & Julia Stone, and the voice behind the pair's stand-out track "Big Jet Plane," which has more than 11 million YouTube views.

Starting September 11th, Angus takes to the road to share the album across North America. The month-long headline tour kicks off in Los Angeles at the famed Troubadour music venue and wraps in Philadelphia, PA on September 30. This is the first time Angus has toured North America without his co-conspirator and sister, Julia Stone.

As 2011 comes to a close, Nettwerk Music Group is excited to share a year-end recap of some significant milestones the label has achieved in Canada.

Toronto’s revered indie-folk/rock band Great Lake Swimmers saw their Juno-nominated album Lost Channels exceed 16,000 copies sold, bringing their career sales to nearly 30,000 albums in their home country. Meanwhile, Australian sibling duo Angus & Julia Stone, whose sophomore album Down The Way debuted at #118 on the Canadian Soundscan Album Chart, saw their album surpass 10,000 copies sold in Canada, with break-out single “Big Jet Plane” exceeding 11,000 in track sales.

Nettwerk has also been focused on expanding its label roster over the past 12 months with the addition of various up-and-coming Canadian talents, including Vancouver-based folk singer/songwriter Joshua Hyslop, Waterloo sibling trio Kidstreet, Toronto-born folk/rock artist Liam Titcomb and Vancouver-based electro synth-pop fivesome Young Liars.  More information on each artist is below.

In addition to new albums from the aforementioned label roster additions, 2012 brings anticipated releases from some of Nettwerk’s most loved Canadian artists, including 2010 Juno-Nominees Great Lake Swimmers and Vancouver’s Frazey Ford (of the Be Good Tanyas). Angus & Julia Stone will also return with new music following the worldwide success of sophomore album Down The Way, and Grammy-nominated remixer/prdoucer Morgan Page will release his new single “Body Work,” a collaboration with Canadian indie duo Tegan & Sara.

Aussie producers, Goodwill & Hook N Sling release a video for their latest hit, “Take You Higher.” The producer duo have sampled Australia's biggest hit of 2011 and Australian Recording Industry Association's (ARIA) Single of the Year, “Big Jet Plane” (Angus & Julia Stone), and turned it into a club cruiser for 2011. Directed by fellow countryman, Benn Jae, the video was filmed throughout the east coast of New South Wales.

The accolades keep pouring in for Aussie bro/sis duo Angus & Julia Stone, who won two major awards at the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) Awards in Sydney on June 21. The pair took home the peer-voted Song Of The Year award for stand-out single "Big Jet Plane" and the coveted Songwriter Of The Year award, which is picked by the APRA board of directors.

This is the latest in a slew of honorable recognition that Angus & Julia have received around their sophomore album Down the Way.  They took home Single and Album Of The Year at the 2010 ARIA Awards, and grabbed the #1 spot on triple J's Hottest 100 earlier this year. 

As Aussie brother/sister duo Angus & Julia Stone prepare to return to the US for their Coachella debut on Sunday, April 16, the pair have just released a new version of their Big Jet Plane EP, with two previously unreleased versions of the popular track, which won "Song of the Year" at the 2010 ARIA Awards."Big Jet Plane (Live)" was recorded live at triple j Radio in Melbourne at the Palais Theatre on October 10, 2010, and "Big Jet Plane (Acoustic)" was recorded at www.on-airstreaming.com.

Nettwerk would like to send a huge congratulations to Angus & Julia Stone, who walked away with top honors at the 2010 ARIA Awards in Australia over the weekend. The Aussie siblings won the most coveted awards of the evening: "Album Of The Year" (Down The Way) and "Single Of The Year" ("Big Jet Plane"), bringing their total wins to five. Prior to the awards telecast, the folk duo won the award for "Best Adult Alternative Album," as well as two Artisan Awards ("Best Cover Art" and "Producer Of The Year").

American tour, Angus & Julia Stone release the Big Jet Plane EP, featuring the radio edit of stand-out track "Big Jet Plane" from their latest full-length album Down The Way, along with two previously unreleased original tracks and a cover of "You're The One That I Want" from the musical Grease (which you can check out HERE). The Aussie indie-folk duo recently wrapped up sold-out headline dates in Australia and the UK, including the 2,000 capacity Shepherd's Bush Empire in London. The N. American leg of the headline tour kicked off last night in Los Angeles with the first of two sold out dates at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery; the two dates sold out so quickly that the pair added a third LA date as well. Angus & Julia will also hit Toronto, Montreal and New York for headline shows before making their Bonnaroo debut on June 12 and then joining the John Butler Trio on a handful of east coast dates, including the Central Park SummerStage (tour dates below). They'll be back in the States this October as part of the Austin City Limits line-up as well. Angus & Julia had the #1 album in Australia for 2 weeks upon the release of Down The Way in March; their digital sales were so strong there that they broke the record for 1st week digital sales by an Australian Artist ever.
