The Weepies - Deb Talan and Steve Tannen - opted out of touring behind their last album to enjoy their new family and have since stayed in the spotlight with over 100 licensing placements across various major network TV shows and blockbuster movies to date. New York Post Premieres New Video From The Weepies For "Be My Thrill"

The New York Post's PopWrap has just exclusively premiered the first video for the title track from The Weepies' brand new album Be My Thrill, out August 31.  The video, gorgeously animated by illustrator Lauren Brier, is the perfect accompaniment to the band's wistful, acoustic-pop harmonies. Watch it above.

Says the Post's Ryan Brockington: "Deb Talan and half Steve Tannen, the couple that make up The Weepies, are so perfectly suited to one another, it's as if their voices fit together like a lock and key. 'This is the most fun we’ve had making a record,' says Deb. 'We took as much time as we needed at every step, and taking that pressure off made the whole thing a little lighter.' Hey Deb, in my opinion, this record is more scrumptious than a buttery croissant and there is nothing light about that! Delicious yes, light no."

The Weepies Return With 'Be My Thrill' On Aug 31

Celebrated California duo The Weepies return with 'Be My Thrill,' the follow up to 2008’s critically acclaimed sophomore album 'Hideaway,' on August 31. Their deepest, most accessible album yet, 'Be My Thrill' is a collection of 14 tracks that crystallize the pair’s organic acoustic sound and pop harmonies. Bouncing lead single “I Was Made For Sunny Days” (out today on iTunes and other digital service providers) is bound to have listeners humming along instantly.

“This is the most fun we’ve had making a record,” says Deb Talan. “We took as much time as we needed at every step, and taking that pressure off made the whole thing a little lighter.” “It took a year,” adds Steve Tannen. “We wrote something like 70 tunes, and were able to experiment quite a bit before these 14 songs emerged as the record.”

With the birth of their son in 2008, The Weepies opted out of touring behind Hideaway to enjoy their new family, but the lack of live shows didn’t keep them out of the spotlight. A favorite of TV and film supervisors, their music was everywhere, from Obama viral campaigns to blockbuster movies like Sex And The City to hit TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Brothers And Sisters and Gossip Girl. Three brand new tracks from Be My Thrill have already been featured on TV shows Life Unexpected, Grey’s Anatomy and Ghost Whisperer, bringing their total number of TV and film placements to well over 100.

The pair’s prolific songwriting abilities have also gained the hearts and admiration of high-profile artists, from songwriting collaborations with Mandy Moore and Colbie Caillat, to public praise from Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus and Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody.

The Weepies are ready to return to the road, first appearing on the 2010 Lilith Tour this summer (July 7 in San Diego and July 10 in Los Angeles), and then launching a headline tour in the fall.
