“It’s practically impossible not to fall just a little bit in love with both the singer and her beautifully fragile music.” -- Q Magazine (UK)
Julia Stone’s new solo effort, By The Horns, is officially in stores this week, and to celebrate, the Aussie chanteuse has released a new video for the album’s title track. In the video, which was directed by Jessie Hill and filmed deep in the jungles of tropical Asia, Julia takes the viewer on a gondola ride through mist-shrouded lakes, playing the role of a scorned goddess who has turned her unfaithful ex-lover into a goblin of the underworld, but she ends up the victim of her own creation. The video recently premièred on the KCRW Music Blog. Watch it above.
By The Horns was produced by Thomas Bartlett and Patrick Dillett, whose combined work includes credits on records by Antony & The Johnsons, David Byrne, The National, and Mary J Blige. The album is comprised of nine original tracks and a cover of The National’s “Bloodbuzz Ohio.” (Listen to it here: http://bit.ly/KYgX4d.)
