Nettwerk Records releases Broken Brights, the exceptional solo effort from Angus Stone, perhaps better known as half of the acclaimed sibling duo, Angus & Julia Stone, and the voice behind the pair's stand-out track "Big Jet Plane," which has more than 11 million YouTube views.

Starting September 11th, Angus takes to the road to share the album across North America. The month-long headline tour kicks off in Los Angeles at the famed Troubadour music venue and wraps in Philadelphia, PA on September 30. This is the first time Angus has toured North America without his co-conspirator and sister, Julia Stone.

Julia Stone has released a new video for her latest single "It's All Okay," from her forthcoming solo album By The Horns, out May 29.  "It's All Okay" is available now in iTunes (here).

Available today, Angus Stone – of critically acclaimed sibling duo, Angus & Julia Stone - shares lead single, “Bird On The Buffalo,” from his forthcoming summer solo release titled Broken Brights.

While on the road in Europe, Stone sat in a hotel room, musing on the symbiotic relationships between the bird and the buffalo, the co-operative behavior between two very different species, working together for mutual survival.

This is Stone. In order to challenge himself as both a musician and performer, Stone draws upon a variety of unexpected sources – instrumentation, vocal stylings, genres – to create his song, “to let the conversation of the energy unfold into a creation,” says Stone.

Earlier this year, critically-acclaimed Australian siblings Angus & Julia Stone announced plans to each release solo albums in 2012 before pairing back up for another Angus & Julia Stone full-length. Today, Julia Stone announces the release of her album By The Horns on May 29th, and celebrates by delivering her captivating first single “Let’s Forget All The Things That We Say.”

As 2011 comes to a close, Nettwerk Music Group is excited to share a year-end recap of some significant milestones the label has achieved in Canada.

Toronto’s revered indie-folk/rock band Great Lake Swimmers saw their Juno-nominated album Lost Channels exceed 16,000 copies sold, bringing their career sales to nearly 30,000 albums in their home country. Meanwhile, Australian sibling duo Angus & Julia Stone, whose sophomore album Down The Way debuted at #118 on the Canadian Soundscan Album Chart, saw their album surpass 10,000 copies sold in Canada, with break-out single “Big Jet Plane” exceeding 11,000 in track sales.

Nettwerk has also been focused on expanding its label roster over the past 12 months with the addition of various up-and-coming Canadian talents, including Vancouver-based folk singer/songwriter Joshua Hyslop, Waterloo sibling trio Kidstreet, Toronto-born folk/rock artist Liam Titcomb and Vancouver-based electro synth-pop fivesome Young Liars.  More information on each artist is below.

In addition to new albums from the aforementioned label roster additions, 2012 brings anticipated releases from some of Nettwerk’s most loved Canadian artists, including 2010 Juno-Nominees Great Lake Swimmers and Vancouver’s Frazey Ford (of the Be Good Tanyas). Angus & Julia Stone will also return with new music following the worldwide success of sophomore album Down The Way, and Grammy-nominated remixer/prdoucer Morgan Page will release his new single “Body Work,” a collaboration with Canadian indie duo Tegan & Sara.

Today marks the release of the latest Twilight soundtrack: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1.  The highly-anticipated soundtrack features a brand new song from Nettwerk recording artist Angus & Julia Stone called "Love Will Take You There."  Other artists on the soundtrack include Bruno Mars, Christina Perri, The Belle Brigade, The Joy Formidable, Theophilus London and many more.

Last week, So You Think You Can Dance finalist Melanie danced solo to Angus & Julia Stone's cover of "You're The One That I Want" from the musical Grease. As a result, the track sold more than 4,800 copies this week, and both the 'Big Jet Plane EP' (which the cover initially appeared on) and the band's award-winninn sophomore album Down The Way landed on the Billboard Folk Chart this week.
