Lily Kershaw Announces Headline Tour Dates

Los Angeles songstress Lily Kershaw has announced headline tour dates that will bring her to many cities around the country for the first time in support of her critically acclaimed debut album Midnight In The Garden. Lily, who performed at the ASCAP Café at Sundance last weekend, will join Mason Jennings as support at the end of January for three shows around Texas. She’ll then head back to Los Angeles to launch her “In The Beginning…Tour” on February 1 at The Mint, followed by dates across the Midwest and East Coast. She’ll finish this run with her SXSW debut in March (all dates are below).

Kershaw has been charming audiences, industry and media alike since the release of Midnight In The Garden last September. The album debuted on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Album Chart at #5, while lead single “As It Seems” took #1 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Singles Chart. Lily was recently the subject of a Snapshot feature on Last Call With Carson Daly (here), and has been featured in such publications as the Huffington Post, LA Times, USA Today “Playlist,” Billboard “Bubbling Under,” and many more. In the past six months, Lily completed a residency at LA’s Hotel Café, sold-out her first show in New York City at Rockwood Music Hall, and supported Mason Jennings and label-mate Radical Face on the road.

See what the media are saying about Lily Kershaw:

“Witty, charming and passionate…” -- The Huffington Post

“[‘As It Seems’] is built on rolling fingerpicked guitar harking back to the golden age of folk-based pop music in the 1950s and ‘60s. She sings the disarming melody in a vulnerable, quavering voice.” -- The LA Times

"Singer-songwriter Lily Kershaw has a knack for taking the simplest of ideas and making them seem ascendant." -- Buzzbands.la

“Lily Kershaw's Midnight In The Garden instantly transfixes.” -- ArtistDirect

"...her songs are deeply rooted in Joni Mitchell-esque emotive folk, but there’s an obvious mainstream pop vibe to them. John Fields’ crystal-clear production makes Kershaw’s picturesque storytelling stand out…” – The Owl Mag

Produced by John Fields, Midnight In The Garden explores emotional landscapes, with heart clutching melodies that say what most people struggle to say themselves. The album takes root in the titans of folk music…those classic songsmiths who weave tapestries of sound with fingerpicking and tales of often unspoken truths. In song, Kershaw is an old soul, but in person, she's a kinetic 22 year-old. She's ebullient and lively, quick with a joke and an infectious smile. Raised adjacent to the Hollywood machine, Kershaw offers an antidote to the long-mythologized Los Angeles glitz; she's authentic, and honest, self-effacing and, above all, she is herself.
