The Pack A.D. Premiere "Battering Ram" Video; New Album 'Do Not Engage' Out Jan 28
“A fantastically gritty rock duo.” – NPR “All Songs Considered”
“High-dudgeon garage from two pissed-off gals trying to hold onto a shred of their humanity in 21st America.” – Pop Matters
Today, The Pack A.D. and Nettwerk Records will release an EP titled Some SSSongs. The EP is a 5-song collection of tracks from previous albums (“Sirens,” “Haunt You,” “Positronic,” and “Deer”) and a new track (“Battering Ram”) from their upcoming 5th LP Do Not Engage, set for release January 28, 2014. More album details to follow in the coming weeks.
Partnering with CBC Music in Canada and Artist Direct in the US, The Pack A.D. share the official video for their first new single since last year’s Juno-nominated LP Unpersons – “Battering Ram.” Reuniting with director Lloyd Lee Choi (“Positronic” and “Sirens”), the video is a dark, gritty portrayal of the seedy (sometimes bloody) underworld, mixed in with stylistic slow motion throughout.
The Pack A.D. will be playing in New York City (Tuesday, September 10 at Pianos) before making their way to Los Angeles for a mini residency (Monday, October 7 at The Satellite and Monday, October 14 at Chris Douridas’ School Night at Bardot).
Comprised of drummer Maya Miller and belligerent guitarist/vocalist Becky Black, The Pack A.D. is an epically fierce explosion of punk, psych- and garage rock. The revered duo formed in 2006 and established themselves as an integral part of Canada’s soundscape with the releases of Tintype (2007), Funeral Mixtape (2008), We Kill Computers (2010) and Unpersons (2011).
A limited edition 10" vinyl housed in a collectable die-cut jacket will be available on September 24.
Stay tuned for additional dates and album details.
