Hey Ocean! Announce First Leg Of U.S. Tour Dates; "Big Blue Wave" Single Out Now
Vancouver-based indie pop trio Hey Ocean! have announced initial tour dates in support of their upcoming full-length album IS, out January 29, 2013. The first leg of their U.S. tour focuses on the west coast, kicking-off Saturday, February 2 in Seattle, WA. Midwest and east coast dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
Hey Ocean!—Dave Vertesi [vocals/bass], Ashleigh Ball [vocals/flute], David Beckingham [vocals/guitar]—are three mischievous personalities who, when combined, form a dynamic live presence that keeps concertgoers captivated and on their feet. The band has been building their fervent live following since 2008 with countless tours across their native Canada. Whether headlining or opening for the likes of Cat Empire, Xavier Rudd and Bedouin Soundclash, the trio consistently enchant the initiated and uninitiated alike. Their electrifying live show has also wowed audiences at various festivals, including the Calgary Virgin Festival, Saskatoon Jazz Fest, Whistler Arts Festival and, most recently, the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival.
In other news, “Big Blue Wave,” the first single from IS, is available now on iTunes. The track serves as the perfect introduction to Hey Ocean!, combing irresistible hooks and infectious melodies. Watch the video for the track above.
