Lilith "Choose Your Charity" Campaign Down To Top 5 In Each City!

Six weeks ago, the 2010 Lilith Tour and Involver, the fastest growing social media technology platform, launched “Choose Your Charity,” an audience engagement campaign run exclusively through the Lilith Facebook page. The original Lilith Fair raised over $10 million dollars for national and local women’s charities from 1997-1999; the Lilith 2010 “Choose Your Charity” campaign builds upon the local component by allowing fans in the tour markets to have a voice in the selection of the local women’s charities that Lilith will support in each city.
The first round of voting has officially ended, and the charities in each city have been narrowed down to the Top 5 organizations per market, based on fan votes. Between today and May 31, anyone who becomes a fan of the Lilith Facebook page can vote for the charity they feel should proceed to the final round by clicking the “Choose Yours” tab. Only one vote per person is allowed, so fans should encourage their friends and family to vote for their favorite charities.
On May 31, the three charities with the most votes will move into the final round, and at that time the Lilith organizers will choose a winner in each city. The 2010 Lilith Tour will donate $1 from every ticket sold in a particular city to its chosen local charity, and Sarah McLachlan will personally present a check for the amount raised to charity representatives at each show on the Lilith Tour.
Stay tuned for exciting news regarding Lilith 2010’s national philanthropic component, the Lilith i4c Campaign. About Lilith 2010:
The original Lilith Fair ran from 1997-1999. With over 1.5 million fans in attendance and more than $10 million raised for national and local women's charities, it was one of the highest grossing touring festivals in the world. Founded by Grammy-award winning artist Sarah McLachlan, along with Dan Fraser, Marty Diamond and Terry McBride, Lilith Fair was a celebration of women in music, led by McLachlan and featuring artists like Sheryl Crow, Christina Aguilera, Erykah Badu, The Dixie Chicks, The Pretenders, Nelly Furtado, Queen Latifah, Indigo Girls, and Tegan and Sara. Nearly 11 years later, Lilith 2010 continues the tradition of celebrating women in music, breaking down boundaries by uniting iconic and up-and-coming female artists across all genres into one musical community of support and celebration. The 11-artist line-up per city will constantly rotate among more than 80 confirmed acts, including Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Sheryl Crow, Erykah Badu, Emmylou Harris, Tegan & Sara, Loretta Lynn, Metric, Rihanna, Court Yard Hounds, Gossip and more. The philanthropic spirit of the original Lilith Fair remains in tact, with $2 from every ticket sold going to charity: $1 to a local women's charity in each tour market, $1 to the Lilith i4c Campaign, a for-profit venture that will help fund Lilith’s future non-profit initiatives.
