LILITH 2010 ALERT: Lilith Teams Up With Involver For The "Choose Your Charity" Facebook Campaign

The 2010 Lilith Tour and Involver, the fastest growing social media technology platform, have joined forces to launch “Choose Your Charity,” an audience engagement campaign run exclusively through Facebook. This multi-round contest will allow local citizens in each city that the touring festival visits this summer to have a voice in the selection of the local women’s charity that Lilith will support in each market.
By becoming a fan of the Lilith Facebook page, users can participate in the Lilith-Involver “Choose Your Charity” campaign, where they’ll have the chance to vote on the pre-selected local women’s charities in their cities. The first round of voting begins today and goes until 11:59 PM PST on Monday, May 3, 2010. At that time, the top five charities from each city will move on to a second round of voting beginning at 10:00 AM PST on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 and ending at 11:59 PM PST on May 31, 2010. The Lilith founders—Sarah McLachlan, Terry McBride, Dan Fraser and Marty Diamond—will hand pick the local charity winners from the top three charities with the most votes in each city. The 2010 Lilith Tour promises to donate $1 from every ticket sold in a particular city to its chosen local charity, and Sarah McLachlan will personally present a check for the amount raised to charity representatives in each city.
“Using our platform, Lilith is proving that social media, and Facebook in particular, is a powerful tool for national brands to engage effectively with passionate local communities,” says Involver CEO and Co-founder Rahim Fazal. “We’ve designed our platform to empower agencies and brands to launch, monitor and manage their complete social marketing efforts from a single place.”
The original Lilith Fair was widely known for its philanthropic commitment, raising over $10 million dollars for various women’s charities over its three year run. The 2010 Lilith Tour promises to keep this spirit alive.
"Since its inception, the Lilith founders have made it a priority to respect the cities that host the festival, and giving back to the local communities is a huge part of that,” says Lilith co-founder Terry McBride. “The fact that we can now use social media to directly involve the communities in helping us select the local charities makes the process that much more personal.”
Below is the list of dates announced so far. There will be 11 artists on each date, with only two consistencies per show: the Lilith Local Talent Search Ourstage.com winner who starts the day and headliner Sarah McLachlan. The remaining acts on the line-up are constantly rotating from among more than 80 acts. For the list of artists playing each city, please visit LilithFair.com. Tickets are available via LilithFair.com or LiveNation.com.
