fun. Announces Dates With Motion City Soundtrack, Paramore And First Ever UK Show

The 2010 touring season is officially in effect for fun. Almost a week into their month long winter tour with Jack’s Mannequin, the rock/pop trio is excited to announce Spring tour dates with both Motion City Soundtrack (Apr 6–Apr 25) and Paramore (w/ Reliant K Apr 26-May16), including a stop at Bamboozle on May 2 in New Jersey. Additionally, the UK fans have spoken and fun. heard ‘em; the band will make their way overseas to play their first ever show in London at The Social on March 23 (full list of tour dates are below).

It’s been no secret that Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams is a fan of fun. From tweeting about her self-proclaimed love of the band (dear @ournameisfun - i love your music. goodnight) to tipping the band in a recent issue of Seventeen Magazine (For a good time, listen to fun. –I’m obsessed with them right now!), to selecting fun. as one of her “Big Hopes For 2010” in NME, she has been one of the band’s biggest supporters. Motion City Soundtrack first forged a friendship with fun., or more specifically frontman Nate Ruess, when he toured with Motion City Soundtrack back in 2006 with former band The Format.

To celebrate the kick-off of their 2010 tour season, fun. has just released the single, “At Least I’m Not as Sad (As I Used To Be),” as a 7” vinyl that also includes a clear CD, all wrapped up in some extra snazzy packaging. Fans can grab their copy at the live shows or HERE.

In other news, fun. recently won the Independent Music Award (IMA) for the Pop/Rock Song Category for hit track “All The Pretty Girls” off their critically acclaimed 2009 debut Aim and Ignite. Winners were chosen by a panel of judges made up of an eclectic group of industry types and successful artists, like Tom Waits, The Black Keys, Mark Hoppus, Aimee Mann, Suzanne Vega and Zooey Deschanel.
