New Releases This Week From Nettwerk: The Rifles, Butterfly Boucher and Lhasa

The week of September 15 sees the release of diverse albums from three Nettwerk recording artists: The RiflesButterfly Boucher and Lhasa de Sela.

UK rock band The Rifles release their N. American debut The Great Escape, and journey to the US and Canada starting September 22 in Philadelphia (full dates below). Fans can check out the entire album this week while AOL/Spinner hosts a listening party. The Rifles burst onto the UK music scene in 2006 with their rebellious and attitude-laden debut No Love Lost, an album revealing the hopes and dreams of working-class suburban drudgery. They spent the next two years touring relentlessly and building an enormous army of fans along the way, which includes some of the foursome’s musical heroes like Paul Weller, Tim Lovejoy, Oasis and more. Butterfly Boucher, who just wrapped up tour dates with The Wallflowers, releases her sophomore album Scary Fragile, produced by David Kahne (Paul McCartney, Regina Spektor, The Strokes). Scary Fragile captures Butterfly’s edgy mix of soaring pop-rock melodies and unflinchingly intimate lyrics, delivered with her trademark vocal dexterity. Her sultry first single, "Gun For A Tongue," caught the attention of USA Today, who commented, “Butterfly Boucher's ferocity is slier and more personal on a sleek, driving track from the aptly titled Scary Fragile." Butterfly joins Eric McCarley on the road starting October 18 (tour dates below). Download Butterfly's newest single "Keeper" HERE.

Montreal-based, Mexican-American songwriter/recording artist Lhasa de Sela releases her first album in 6 years and first recorded entirely in English. Lhasa, which was self-produced and recorded mostly live in studio on Analog tape, has already received four-star reviews in London’s The Times, MOJO, Q, The Financial Times and The Daily Express, among others. With two critically lauded releases already under her belt, de Sala draws upon American folk, blues and gospel, making the new disc a timeless work that will appeal to audiences of various generations.
