Originally from the Tampa, FL area, Mike grew up attaining a love for the Beatles, early rap music and a healthy dose of country music. After moving to Nashville in 2007, he penned and arranged numerous songs for Hasbro, Inc. In 2013, he co-founded The Tennessee Recording Company (an independent record label/production team) with longtime friend and collaborator Kyle Cook, guitarist of Matchbox 20.

He’s recently began collaborating with Average Joes Entertainment production team, Phivestarr, writing for both Bubba Sparxxx and Colt Ford’s forthcoming albums. Run River North Announce June Dates; Daytrotter Session Now Live

“Run River North stays the course – and finds success” – NPR “Weekend Edition”

“Snappy rock and chamber folk frames their tales of their parents' dreams and struggles to find purchase in America." – Wall Street Journal

"The eleven songs that make up this irrepressible effort come across as so exuberant, so effusive, so infused with freewheeling enthusiasm, that any attempt to typecast them inevitably comes up short. Veering from a quiet pluck to resounding refrains, the band catches fire each time out…" -- No Depression

“[Run River North] has a powerful alternative, folk foundation… The overall catchiness of the music being played is shadowed by the intimacy of their lyrical and instrumental intricacies. From fiddles to pounding base drum, this band builds, explodes, and soothes from one song to the next.” -- LA Record (live review)

Los Angeles-based sextet Run River North will hit the road this summer with a string of headline dates, following a successful run at this year’s SXSW, a Spring tour opening for the Goo Goo Dolls and soldout headline dates in Los Angeles, New York, Boston and more. Below is a partial list of dates, with more to announce in the coming weeks.

While on the road, the band paid a visit to Daytrotter to record four tracks from their debut self-titled album (out February 25). Daytrotter posted the special session HERE.

Recorded with record producer Phil Ek (Band Of Horses, Fleet Foxes, Built To Spill, The Shins), Run River North deals with themes of hope, struggle and identity. Debuting on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart at #3, the overlap of Asian and American folk is subtle, reflecting the hyphenated existence of the band members.

During an interview for NPR Weekend Edition with Scott Simon, guitarist Daniel Chae says, "our parents don’t have white collar jobs. My father worked at Wienerschnitzel; that was his first job when he came [to the US]. Our parents sacrificed their lives for us. I think that why there's such a strong sense of family in each of us. They wished for us to live the American Dream. And we finally find that in music.

LISTEN TO (& SHARE!) “SKIN & BONE” FROM VAGABOND:

Nettwerk Music Group is excited to announce the signing of Australian singer-songwriter Stu Larsen to its label roster. Stu will release his debut full-length album, Vagabond, July 15th (pre order May 13).

Vagabond was recorded at Sydney’s esteemed Linear Studios and was co-produced by Chris Vallejo and friend/label-mate Mike Rosenberg (aka Passenger). A few years ago, Stu left his small town in Queensland, Australia and embraced a life as a bit of a vagabond himself, exploring and embracing opportunities as they came. He has been touring, recording, driving friends tour vans and pretty much anything else that allows him to continue his travels. The album expresses the dichotomy of Stu’s life on the road – his amazing journeys and beautiful observations along the way; contrasted with an inevitable sense of loneliness. He attracted new fans in North America and beyond during his extensive run as support for Passenger in 2013.
