Nettwerk recording artist William Close & The Earth Harp Collective – a team of musicians, dancers, aerialists and artists - will release Holidays on November 4. Installation artist, musician and America’s Got Talent finalist William Close has built over 100 one-of-a-kind musical instruments, including the world’s largest string instrument, The Earth Harp. “It’s an instrument unlike anything Bach or Beethoven could have ever imagined,” writes The New York Times.
The re-recorded album is a collection of holiday classics, now featuring guest performances from singer-songwriters Landon Pigg, Lily Kershaw and Gareth Dunlap. Pigg lends his voice on the inspired cover of Joni Mitchell’s “River.” No stranger to collaboration, Pigg has also contributed tracks for several soundtracks, including Shrek Forever After and Whip It, in which Pigg had a supporting role opposite Ellen Page. Also on the album, fellow Nettwerk artist Gareth Dunlap on “We Three Kings” and label-mate Lily Kershaw on “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” Kershaw, whose vocals transform this soulful holiday classic originally sung by Darlene Love, saw her own track “As It Seems” reach #1 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter Chart after being featured on CBS series, Criminal Minds.
