Check out the lyric video for the track above.
Lily also just announced a new tour date in Los Angeles on May 27th at Hotel Cafe.
Nettwerk Music Group is incredibly thrilled to announce the signing of Los Angeles-based, indie outfit Run River North (formerly known as Monsters Calling Home) to its label roster.
To date, the band has only released a 6-song accidental demo. Never intended as an official release, Run River North put together a last-minute promotional piece to sell on tour.

With only that unplanned demo, the six-piece has seen extraordinary buzz, including a booking on Jimmy Kimmel Live! In 2012, the band recorded and filmed a music video for “Fight To Keep” in their Hondas. Unable to afford a studio space at the time, the sextet switched off playing instruments inside the cramped interiors of their Honda Fit, Accord and CRV. Once uploaded, the video experiment ran an upward viral course to the Honda offices. Under the pretense of thanking the band, Honda invited them to perform in front 600 of their executives. With an “emergency meeting” keeping all but two Honda employees from showing up, the band got the best surprise of their career…it was all a hoax and they were actually booked as the musical guests on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Watch their priceless reactions and inspired performance above.
Run River North writes brilliant harmonies paired with layered instrumentations and puts on an awe-inspiring live show. Headlining the largest venue to date, Run River North sold out LA’s famed Troubadour and immediately charmed Nettwerk’s A&R collective. “It’s about the song and the passion of how it’s conveyed. When it’s authentic, it’s magic and that’s what Run River North are creating…magic," says CEO of Nettwerk Music Group Terry McBride. About signing to Nettwerk, lead vocalist/guitarist Alex Hwang add “The family vibe at Nettwerk is what we’re most excited about. Impressively hardworking and genuinely enthusiastic about who we are and what we're trying to share - we couldn't ask for a better relationship and environment to make music and tell our stories.”

Nettwerk Music Group is thrilled to announce the signing of the indomitable Vancouver duo The Pack A.D.
Who is The Pack A.D.? A jaw-dropping statement. To best experience what this means, watch the excellent music video for standout track “Positronic.” The above video has some unexpected (and grisly) moments; consider yourselves warned.
Comprised of drummer Maya Miller and belligerent guitarist/vocalist Becky Black, The Pack A.D. is an epically fierce explosion of punk, psych and garage rock. The revered duo formed in 2006 and established themselves as an integral part of Canada’s soundscape with the releases of Tintype (2007), FuneralMixtape (2008) and We Kill Computers (2010). For their most recent output, Unpersons (2011), they teamed up with famed Detroit producer Jim Diamond (Electric Six, The White Stripes, The Mooney Suzuki), earning a 2013 Juno nomination in the category of “Breakthrough Group Of The Year.”
The Pack A.D. is all things snarl, piss, vinegar, venom and vitriol – and expect nothing less when they head back to the studios with Diamond for their forthcoming Nettwerk debut.
When asked for a quote, the brilliantly wicked Miller sums it up best with lyrics from Kool Moe Dee, “To say rock is not work, is ludicrous. Whoever said it, must be new to this. When you hear me, you'll compare me to a prophet for profit. Not merely putting words together for recreation, each rhyme's a dissertation. You wanna know my occupation? I get paid to rock the nation. I go to work.”
Nettwerk Music Group is pleased to announce the signing of Australia’s The Paper Kites to its North American label roster.
With their debut EP Woodland and follow-up EP Young North, Australian indie-folk outfit The Paper Kites melds earthy instrumentals to create a perfect backdrop for the band’s harmonies. The standout tracks from Woodland - “Bloom” and “Featherstone” (as prominently featured in the season 8 finale of Grey’s Anatomy) - have generated over 5 million combined YouTube views.
“Up until recently we never expected much of a response (from our recordings) outside of Melbourne, let alone the other side of the world, so when we were approached by Nettwerk, we were certainly surprised!” says bandmember Sam Rasmussen. “We are currently plotting out the next year and beyond. We look forward to sharing the album with the world and couldn't be happier about our new partnership with Nettwerk.” Sharing the same enthusiasm, Terry McBride, CEO of Nettwerk Music Group, continues, “I hum their music constantly, so happy to have a part in spreading this inspiring music.”
The band began with Sam Bentley and Christina Lacy playing local cafes in their hometown of Melbourne, Australia. When invited to play a local festival, they decided it was time to expand by adding David Powys, Sam Rasmussen and cousin Josh Bentley. “Sam and I worked together in a warehouse, Josh was my cousin and I liked his drumming…we liked David because he could sing and were big fans of his other band. It was never really an official ‘let’s start a band’ conversation, we just kind of fell into it,” says Bentley.

Nettwerk-managed indie pop-folk artist Radical Face (aka Ben Cooper) -- who released his critically-acclaimed sophomore album The Family Tree: The Roots in North America in October on his own Bear Machine label -- has just inked a deal with Nettwerk's label side for the album's release in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The Family Tree: The Roots will be out at the end of January/early February (release dates vary across each territory). Hauntingly beautiful, Radical Face’s new album glimmers with folk, pop and Ben’s wide-open vocals. His European tour kicks off January 23rd with back to back sold-out shows in London. See below for full list of dates.
After four years of honing the album concept, which depicts the life and tribulations of a family from the 1800’s, Ben recorded The Family Tree: The Roots alone in a tool shed and limited the songwriting to instruments that would have been accessible in the 1800’s. Incorporating piano, acoustic guitar, a floor tom, and voices, he only brought in additional instruments of the era during tracking when needed. From soaring tracks like “A Pound of Flesh” and “Severus and Stone,” to eerily dark pieces like “Black Eyes” and “Kin,” to warm, enlightening gems like “Always Gold” and “Mountains,” the songs flow together with mindful artistic clarity, allowing the listener to fully escape into the album as the stories unravel.
Nettwerk Records is pleased to announce the signing of Vancouver’s latest indie rock sensation, Young Liars. Comprised of five multi-instrumentalists, Young Liars deftly experiments with synth-pop, electronic and indie rock to create catchy indie pop hooks.

In near infancy, the blog darlings have already garnered sold-out shows and a promising EP, Homesick Future (set for release February 21st). Today, Nettwerk Records shares lead track, “Colours,” from the forthcoming EP. Included in the release is a remix by fellow countrymen, Teen Daze.
Pop-duo Ash Koley have released a new video for their latest single, "Apple Of My Eye," from their Canadian debut album Inventions, which is set for US release in 2012 on Nettwerk. The single is also available for purchase on iTunes now HERE.
Singer Ash Koley and producer/songwriter Phil Deschambault began their musical collaboration in 2004, when the two self-proclaimed nerds from Winnipeg were introduced by a mutual acquaintance. Phil was looking for a singer who could relate to his sound, and Ash's velvety voice did just that. Together, their sound is an amalgamation of diverse influences, from Abba to the Eurythmics, and from Peter Gabriel to Radiohead. The result is a band that is a full embodiment of what they each bring to the duo - quirky charm and upbeat classic pop music.
