Nettwerk-managed artist and award-winning songwriter Nneka recently unveiled the title video (above) from her upcoming album Soul Is Heavy. The artist has started to reveal information about this anticipated release, but the official release date has yet to be officially announced.

Soul Is Heavy effortlessly balanced combination of hip-hop beats, reggae grooves, brass riffs and African-pop are the canvas for the motif of love, pain, politics and God. Respective albums have earned Nneka the moniker of 21st Century Soul for their sincerity and frankness and this, her third album, is no different. The album features guest collaborations with the likes of The Roots’ Black Thought and Ms. Dynamite and affirms her credentials as a fast-rising star of black-consciousness music.

Nettwerk management artist Nneka has a new song entitled "Viva Africa" on the recently released Listen Up! The Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Album. The album also includes songs from Shakira, R. The Nigerian-born singer is currently on tour in the US with Distant Relatives in support of her album Concrete Jungle (Epic / Decon). She'll be returning to the US later this summer to perform at The Newport Folk Festival, Lollapalooza and the 2010 Lilith Tour.
