Project Rhythm Seed--a nonprofit company with a mission to create funding for youth music programs--was recently invited to attend a private, music industry showcase called Michele Clark’s Sunset Sessions. During the three day event, they videotaped over thirty interview and performance segments with many talented musical artists and groups, including two segments with Nettwerk-managed artist Landon Pigg. Check it out HERE.
Says Project Rhythm Seed founder Myles Crawley, “Landon is a consummate professional. He is a songwriter’s songwriter. While we were waiting for the technical crew to begin shooting, Landon and I had a conversation about Project Rhythm Seed’s mission. Being a second generation musician, and having the creative tools readily available as he was growing up, Landon not only understands the importance of musical education, but also recognizes the potential for negative impact created by the breakdown of school music programs.”
Nettwerk Management client Landon Pigg releases his sophomore album, The Boy Who Never, today on RCA Records and will join A Fine Frenzy on tour beginning October 20th in Austin, TX. Pigg is currently on a nationwide club tour with Erin McCarley.
Produced by Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse, Tom Waits), The Boy Who Never includes a new arrangement of Pigg’s fantastic single “Falling In Love At A Coffee Shop,” which features additional production by Eric Rosse. Currently featured in AT&T’s latest ad campaign and spotlighted as in the 2007 “A Diamond Is Forever” holiday season commercial, the track has sold more than 400,000 digital tracks.
26-year-old Pigg is also making his feature film debut later this year co-starring opposite Ellen Page in the Drew Barrymore directed film Whip It which will be released on October 2nd through Mandate Pictures and Fox Searchlight. Pigg plays the role of Oliver, a musician who falls for Bliss Cavendar (Ellen Page), a teen girl with a passion for roller derby. The singer/songwriter appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last week in support of the film and his new album.

"Easy Come Easy Go" is the first single from New Wild Everywhere and easily the most upbeat and up-tempo track to ever come from Toronto indie folk/rock darlings Great Lake Swimmers. Out April 3, New Wild Everywhere is the follow up to 2009's critically acclaimed, Juno and Polaris-prize nominated album Lost Channels. Their fifth album in just under a decade, this new collection of 12 tracks reveals a depth and maturity previously only hinted at by lead singer and songwriter Tony Dekker.
