They've done everything from tearing the roof off Coachella to appearing on Yo Gabba Gabba, and now the band returns with an EP called "California," featuring 5 tracks from their forthcoming project, DATAROCK - the musical. With 800 shows in 35 countries under their belt, who can blame them...

Electro-rockers Datarock have unveiled a brand new video for their latest single “The Pretender” from sophomore album Red. The video premiered yesterday on the front pages of MTV.com and MTV's Buzzworthy.
The single, along with 5 remixes from the likes of Holy Ghost, Chairlift and CFCF, will be available on October 13 via iTunes and other digital service providers.
The video for “The Pretender” was shot in Paris and directed by Pascal Forneri and Antoine Bouillo of the Parralax Corporation, who also did the videos for popular tracks “Computer Camp Love” and “Bulldozer” from the band’s debut album. The concept was inspired by John Carpenter’s 1988 cult classic, “They Live.” Frontman Fredrik Saroea comments, “If you haven't seen it, I shouldn't say too much. But I can tell you that the main character finds a pair of sunglasses that opens his eyes to reveal that the civilized world isn't quite what he thought it was. We stopped there and simply let the creepy Carpenter feeling enter a Parisian mall. Now, what could a pair of sunglasses possibly reveal in a deserted mall in the city of romance and love?”
Norwegian rockers Datarock appeared on Fuel TV's "The Daily Habit" this week, where they performed "True Stories" and "The Pretender" from their latest album Red.
The band is currently on the last leg of their 6-week North American tour and are preparing to head back to Europe for a slew of dates before they travel Australia early next year.
If you missed it, the men in red also played a special release day performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this month, as well as appeared on ABC News Now "What's The Buzz" to talk about their new album, their tracksuits and of course, their childhood friendship with Jimmy Kimmel.
As Datarock's new album Red hits stores today, the accolades continue to pour in. Pitchfork posted their review today, stating that the Norwegian rockers "sport some of the slickest dance production in the biz, not to mention their effortless traversing between neurotic post-punk licks and coked-to-the-gills 1980s synth pop," and continues on to say that "this band can nail any sound they want..." ANew York Times' Critic's Choice review also ran this week, which called Red "a frothy elixir out of 1980s synth-pop, art-rock and new wave."
The men in red celebrate tonight with a special performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s outdoor stage (12:05 et/pt on ABC). AOL's Spinner.com is also hosting a Red listening party this week, which you can check out HERE.

"Easy Come Easy Go" is the first single from New Wild Everywhere and easily the most upbeat and up-tempo track to ever come from Toronto indie folk/rock darlings Great Lake Swimmers. Out April 3, New Wild Everywhere is the follow up to 2009's critically acclaimed, Juno and Polaris-prize nominated album Lost Channels. Their fifth album in just under a decade, this new collection of 12 tracks reveals a depth and maturity previously only hinted at by lead singer and songwriter Tony Dekker.
