The Be Good Tanyas' Daytrotter Session Out Now; September/October Tour Dates Start September 13


The Be Good Tanyas caught up with Daytrotter when they were in San Francisco last month for the Outside Lands Festival. The session is live today and available here: http://tinyurl.com/9ou2gkk.

The Vancouver trio continues to tour in support of their latest release, A Collection (2000 - 2012), a 16-track career retrosection that features stand-out tracks and fan favorites from the band’s three critically-acclaimed full-length albums: Blue Horse (2001), Chinatown (2003) and Hello Love (2006).  The album also features four previous unreleased tracks.  September tour dates start in Eugene, OR on September 13, followed by two nights headlining the Aladdin Theatre in Portland on September 14 and 15. Vancouver-based alt/folk trio The Be Good Tanyas have reunited for a special run of live dates in support of their new album, A Collection (2000-2012), out today. The tour dates include appearances at Vancouver’s ShoreFest (Aug 1) and San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival (Aug 10-12), as well as various West Coast headline dates (full tour schedule below). The ladies plan to continue touring through the fall, with dates around the Midwest and East Coast to be announced in the coming weeks.

The album will feature stand-out tracks and fan favorites from the band’s three critically-acclaimed full-length albums: Blue Horse (2001), Chinatown (2003) and Hello Love (2006). Additionally, the 16-song collection will include four previously unreleased tracks: two brand new tracks “Little Black Bear” and “Gospel Song,” and new mixes of “Scattered Leaves” and “Song For R.”

The trio will be playing various festivals this summer across Canada, and will make their debut appearance at the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco, CA the weekend of August 10, alongside artists like Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Regina Spektor, Alabama Shakes and more.

The Be Good Tanyas—Frazey Ford, Trish Klein and Samantha Parton—formed in Vancouver in 1999, and captured the hearts of fans and critics alike for their unique mixture of deep country, early American folk, old-time blues and gospel. Their gorgeous instrumentation, combined with stunning vocals and seamless harmonies create music that is warm, honest and captivating.

Vancouver alt-folk trio The Be Good Tanyas have announced spring/summer tour dates, including an appearance at the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival in San Francisco in August.  See below for full list of dates. 

The Be Good Tanyas—Frazey Ford, Samantha Parton and Trish Klein—have achieved cult status since their inception in the late ‘90s. With classic albums like Blue Horse (2000), Chinatown (2003) and Hello Love (2006), the three young women were met with ever growing critical and fan acclaim, garnering 4 star reviews in Rolling Stone and MOJO, and selling out concert halls across North America and Europe. Combining original material with traditional standards, the Tanyas’ stunning vocals and seamless harmonies, combined with gorgeous acoustic instrumentation, resulted in music that was warm, honest and captivating.

The Be Good Tanyas To Release Limited-Edition 'Blue Horse' Vinyl; Band Reunites For Tour Dates

It’s been 10 years since Vancouver-based, alt-folk trio The Be Good Tanyas released their critically-lauded debut album Blue Horse on Nettwerk Records. To celebrate, the band has announced that they will released a special, limited edition 180-gram vinyl on July 5, 2011, with a deluxe 2-LP gatefold, 28-page songbook and digital download card. The vinyl will include the 12 original tracks from Blue Horse, as well as three previously unreleased bonus tracks.
